Has your arena been suffering during the recent Wet weather. Here at Equestrian Surfaces we specialize in the refurbishment and construction of arenas.
There are multiple things that can effect the lifespan of an arena, from the type of construction methods to the type of riding surface that you use.
As an Arena is a big undertaking seeking professional advice is paramount to success. Just like a house you would not build one without a good engineer and a good builder, you would also not use inferior products.
You should also take the same view when it comes to the construction / Refurbishment of an Arena and contract this work to people who are professionals in this field.
Here at Equestrian Surfaces we are not builders or ground workers we are specialists in our field and as such all our installation teams are trained in the correct methods and materials we use to construct Arenas.
Below are some examples of problems we come across when carrying out refurbishments.
- Water Logging
Several different factors can cause this, the main ones we find in Ireland is poor sand choice, these come in the form of unwashed sands, low silica content sands, soft sands and fine sands.
- Poor Drainage
Another major problem is poor construction methods. This can be everything from poor stone choice for the filtration base , no drainage, or incorrect membranes.
Many clients are not aware that a simple thing like planting a hedge near to an arena can give you problems in years to come and consideration must be given to the type of pants and trees you wish to use and how close you plant them
Poor sand Planting to close to arena edge root ingress

Due to Equestrian Surfaces Success on a Global Scale , We are currently in the process of Changing our logo across all our markets so our Brand and Quality of Surface ranges and Fibre additives are more recognizable,Our Global companies will now carry the new logo, look out for this logo wherever you maybe in the world it is a sure sign of quality in equestrian surfaces worldwide
Stabilizing fibres need to do one basic job but actual fact do a lot more.
Main Role –
- -To stabilize and secure the sand from too much movement through its binding qualities.
- – The fibres holds onto moisture longer than free draining sand can do alone.
- – As an effect of the stabilization, there is less movement and kickback from the surface.
- – Reduces risk of over stretching & straining of the horse as can happen in loose/dry sand.
DO NOT BE DUPED – Why choose Equestrian Surfaces Fusion Fibres over others on the market. You may be told that others supply the same Fibres as Equestrian Surfaces however that is not possible as we manufacture our own Equestrian Fibres, through the refining process of a select choice of Polypropylene, nylon, polyester Synthetic Fibres. We can guarantee that our product is 100% manmade fibres and has no wool content, unlike other imported fibres which could be what is know as 80/20 mix. Although initially those fibre/wool mixes will bind well, in time the wool content will rot and you will see your fibre/money disappear before your eyes.
Also quality of the fibre and cut length are very important – Our fibres are the correct length for equestrian use. If the fibres are too long, they can result in increased tripping of the horse, if they are too short, it will result in the product not binding enough to give a satisfactory result.
We are the only Equestrian Fibre manufacturer/supplier in Ireland and the UK that has Environmental agency approval that our fibre products are fit for purpose for the Equine Industry We have also just achieved ISO9001 @ our Uk manufacturing facility for the production of specialized equestrian fibres this guarantees that the specialized fibre range we produce meets the strict quality controls of this mark .
We are also EU compliant meaning our fibres are environmentally friendly and can cause not harm or leeching into the ground.
If you require any further advice or require a quote for the supply only or supply & installation of our Fibres please do not hesitate to contact us on 045254222, by email email@example.com
